Universo Expansivo for All: Teacher Workshop

The Giant Magellan Telescope, in collaboration with the Mirador Interactive Museum (MIM) and Red Aprender, invites teachers of all subjects in the Santiago Metropolitan Area to a workshop to launch the Universo Expansivo Manual workshop, an innovative pedagogical guide to integrate transdisciplinary approaches to teaching astronomy into their classes in a multisensory way.
This free manual enables educators to teach students about astronomy through multisensory modalities including movement, touch, and sound. The manual launch workshop will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Museo Interactivo Mirador (MIM), in Santiago, from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm. The workshop will offer hands-on demonstrations, networking opportunities with educators and specialists, spaces for networking with teachers and specialists, and a coffee break.
We invite teachers to join us for this incredible opportunity to learn and connect with a network of teachers passionate about astronomy. Space is limited, teachers are encouraged to book in advance at universoexpansivo.org.

Giant Magellan Telescope
The Giant Magellan Telescope is the future of space exploration from Earth. Using seven of the world’s largest mirrors, the 25.4-meter telescope will produce the most detailed images ever taken of our Universe. It will uncover the cosmic mysteries of dark matter, investigate the origins of the chemical elements, and search for signs of life on distant planets. The Giant Magellan Telescope is the work of the GMTO Corporation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and international consortium of 15 universities and research institutions from the United States, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Israel, South Korea, and Taiwan. The telescope is being built in America and will be reassembled and completed in Chile by the early 2030s. The Universe Awaits at giantmagellan.org.
